NTE: Neverness to Everness has turned the spotlight toward a familiar face. On August 23, 2026, the global account released a new Hethereau Special Bulletin for Blackbird, accompanied by a full official character visual.
The Japanese announcement calls her Kurobane (クロバネ) and confirms Mamiko Noto as her Japanese voice actor. While the format gives Blackbird a major new character spotlight, no combat information or playable release schedule has officially been announced.

Hethereau Special Bulletin and Blackbird Visual

Blackbird Receives an Official Character Spotlight
The NTE Global account introduced the new Hethereau Special Bulletin under the name Blackbird, again associating her encounters with the idea of destiny.
In Japan, the same character is officially named Kurobane. The biggest new piece of information is the confirmation of Mamiko Noto as her Japanese voice, adding a formal voice identity to a character players have already encountered in Hethereau.
She Is Not a New Face in Hethereau
Blackbird was already part of NTE before this standalone visual appeared.
She is the witch encountered at the Witch’s House, one of Hethereau's more unusual locations. Players interact with her in connection with several divination and exploration activities.
Blackbird has also appeared in earlier story content, including the Version 1.1 main story. The August reveal is therefore better described as a new official character spotlight rather than her first appearance in NTE.
The Witch’s House Connects Her to Exploration
Blackbird also serves a practical role through the Witch’s House.
Players can access activities such as Lost Tales, Fortune, and Treasure Hunt, while exploring Hethereau can also lead to Oracle Stones obtained from specific objects around the city.
Those stones can be handed to Blackbird in exchange for rewards. Earlier coverage of NTE's city systems highlighted a permanent stamina-increasing item among the useful rewards associated with this exploration loop.
The New Art Reinforces Her Witch Identity
The new official artwork uses a predominantly dark palette with strong yellow accents.
Black feathers surround her outfit, while an enormous wing-like structure dominates the silhouette behind her. Blackbird also holds an orb containing a view of Hethereau.
The design strengthens the supernatural imagery already associated with the Witch’s House without explaining how any of these visual elements might translate into combat gameplay.
Playable Details Remain Unannounced
Crucially, the new Hethereau Special Bulletin does not provide Blackbird's combat data.
Hotta Studio has not announced her rarity, Esper Type, Arc, weapon, role, skill kit, signature Arc, or banner schedule.
The post also gives no version number or implementation date. Any specific prediction about when Blackbird might become playable therefore remains unconfirmed until Hotta Studio provides those details.
The Reveal Arrives During Version 1.3
Blackbird's spotlight appeared only a few days after Ver.1.3 “Rising from the Moonlit Fog” went live on August 19.
That update introduced new story content, an additional area, characters, summer activities, vehicles, outfits, and other systems.
Blackbird is not listed as one of the obtainable new characters in the Version 1.3 patch notes, leaving the August 23 bulletin as a separate character teaser for now.
Why This Matters
1) A long-standing NPC now has a major spotlight
Blackbird has already served a gameplay and narrative purpose, but she now has the kind of standalone official artwork used to foreground important NTE characters.
2) Mamiko Noto is officially attached to Kurobane
The announcement establishes the Japanese voice behind a character that players have been encountering in Hethereau for months.
3) The most important gameplay information is still being held back
Rarity, element, role, kit, banner, and release timing remain absent, making this a character identity reveal rather than a full gameplay announcement.
